creating iconic + artful imagery 

My fiancée, Christian, has deeply inspired my photography journey as he’s a talented videographer himself. We spend most of our days editing, exploring, creating, and enjoying the simple sweetness of life together. We travel often; Maui, Costa Rica, and Aruba are among our favorite adventures. 

As two island natives, we have a deep love for the place we call home and cherish the natural luxuries of the Lowcountry: oyster season, that pluff mud smell, and surfing.

Summer Kai

Toes in the sand, downward dog, at the espresso machine, deep in a romance novel, and behind the lens are my favorite places to be. I’m an island child raised in the heart of the Lowcountry in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Ocean waves were the tune of my childhood. 

Once I picked up a camera as a teenager, I was instantly infatuated.  Inspired to document moments that I knew would become memories I didn’t want to forget. 

I quickly started sharing this craving to capture the present with friends and family. My circle of subjects expanded, and I went from a barista to a full-time photographer. I now focus on capturing couples in the Lowcountry, documenting engagement photos and weddings in Hilton Head Island and surrounding areas. 

My approach to wedding photography is influenced by the yoga teacher training I completed in Maui. I integrate mindfulness into every moment, capturing every wedding day with care. I value natural beauty and honest storytelling in my imagery.
